Conference Heat Sheets, Timeline, and Post Conference Dinner

Afternoon Country Club Swim and Dive,

5 Days Until Swim Conference! Please encourage your kids to get plenty of rest this weekend. Our last day of Swim practice will be Monday, August 3rd. Our last dive practice at The Country Club will be tomorrow July 31st, Haley will be at the Conference practices at Pepperwood.
There is not much seating at Olympus Aquatics, we recommend bringing shade, blankets, and chairs to set up outside the aquatic center. We will let you know where our team will be set up as soon as we know. Please bring plenty of water, healthy snacks, and towels as we do not want our swimmers tired or fatigued.

Swim Conference Heat Sheets and Timeline
Prelim heat sheets and the prelim timeline are available on the blog, http://slccswimanddive.blogspot.com/p/conference-championships-swim-and-dive.html. Take a look and get excited about what looks to be a very competitive Conference Championship.

Swim Conference Parent Volunteers
All families swimming at Conference are expected to have a volunteer representative AT LEAST once per day. We, SLCC, have some easy and great spectating volunteer positions. Timing we know how to do, and meet marshals will stand at doors to make sure only swimmers, coaches, and volunteers are on the pool deck. Sign Up to Volunteer HERE. We MUST have all our volunteer spots filled immediately. We need two more Meet Marshals for Tuesday Morning and four more for Wednesday Morning. We also need one more timer for Wednesday Evening.
Volunteers must check-in each morning between 7:30 - 8:00 AM and in the evening between 4:30-5:00pm. The Volunteer Check-in will be located inside the Aquatics Center, downstairs in the northwest corner. No street shoes are allowed on the pool deck! No food is allowed on the pool deck!

Message from Haley about Dive Conference

Good morning Country Club Swim and Dive Team,
As we get closer to Dive Conference there are some pieces of information I would like to share with all of you. As you know, Dive Conference will be held at Pepperwood Monday August 3rd. The eight and under warm ups will begin right at three o'clock and the schedule becomes tentative from there. Please arrive about an hour before your scheduled warm up just in case an event ends early. Below I have attached a flyer with the tentative schedule and some information about practices. Pepperwood has been kind enough to close off their diving well for practice the weekend before conference. I will be attending both practices so those of you who would like to practice on their boards are more than welcome to come get an extra practice in. The times for these practices are listed on the flyer as well. Please let me know if your child would like to attend one or both of these practices.

Meet Results
Swim and Dive meet results from Monday's home meet with Cottonwood can be found on the blog, http://slccswimanddive.blogspot.com/p/results-and-records.html.

Meet Questions
Some parents were asking about the order of the meet. Please know that some older age group events are combined so swimmers should always be ready to go several events early. Here is a link to the league website, http://ccswim.com/pages/resources.php, which will give you more information about how the meets are run. Take a look at the events order sheet to get a better handle on the order of events. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Girl Swimmers
While we are happy to have any age swimmer join our team, we are thin in our older girl swimmer age groups. If you know of any 13 or older girls who may be interested (and are children or grandchildren of a member) in swimming and/or diving this Summer we would love to have them on of our team.

Meet Sign Up
Our next swim and dive meet is this coming Monday, June 22nd at Home against Northcrest. Please remember to volunteer for the meet either at the pool or on the blog. SWIMMERS AND DIVERS MUST SIGN UP TO BE ENTERED INTO THE MEET. Sign your athletes up by Saturday, June 20th @ Midnight.  Anyone who can swim the length of the pool is welcome to sign up for the meet. Sign Ups can be done on the blog, http://slccswimanddive.blogspot.com/, or at the club.

League Regulations
The Conference Championships are our league's culminating meet, it is a chance for swimmers and divers to compete against the best in the league. It is also a great chance for our team to showcase all of our hard work. We would like to send as many swimmers and divers to conference as possible. In order to be eligible for our Conference Championships swimmers must compete in at least 3 swim meets, in order to be eligible for the dive championships divers must of participated in at least 2 dive meets. These rules and more can be found on the league website, http://www.ccswim.com/

Team Breakfast and Picture
This coming wednesday, June 24th,  will be our team breakfast and picture. We still need more volunteers to help with the breakfast. Also it would be great to have one parent volunteer to take the pictures. ALL Swimmers must arrive to the pool at 8:45am. The team picture will be taken at 9am, no retakes. Breakfast will follow the team picture. The 7am, 10am, and 10:45am practices will be run during their normal time. The 8:45am practice will have an abbreviated work out. Diving will run during its normal time.

Master's Practice
I would like to invite you to join our Master's Swim Practice on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning from 6:15 - 7:15 am. This is a practice for any of you who are too old to swim for our team (anyone 18+). Seamus will have an elite level workout which those of us not in that level of shape will adapt accordingly.

No Practice Monday for Memorial Day, Apparel is Ready to Order, and Team Rules/Guidelines

Happy Memorial Day Weekend Country Club Swim and Dive,

Intro/ No Practice Monday.
We had a great second week of practice, getting in some good swim sets, working on our diving fundamentals, and continuing to develop dryland routines. It was great to see more of our returning athletes this last week as well as meet some newcomers to our team. We will continue afternoon practices this upcoming week, Tuesday-Friday. Enjoy your Memorial Day, we will not have practice on Monday.

Apparel is Ready to Order
The order forms and sizing kit are now available. We have a sizing kit for sweats and shirts available at the club during practice to try on sizes. Parents must be present with their kids to try on clothing. Please be sure to return all items to the sizing kit box. Order forms will be available at the club, attached here, or on the blog under the "suits, caps, and apparel" tab. Be sure to factor the tax into your order at the bottom of the form. Caps can also be purchased on the same form or throughout the summer when they arrive at the club. Green Speedo bags can be purchased at Pool n Patio, please see me if you are interested in getting those stitched with our logo and a name.

Team Rules and Guidelines
Friendly reminder that ALL swimmers and divers must be ABLE to swim to be on the team. While we are happy to work with swimmers who can not swim the entire length of the pool, swimmers and divers must be able to swim a minimum of 10 yards before they can join the team. This is for the safety of all swimmers. The Country Club has a great swim lesson program for any swimmers who are still learning how to swim. See one of the coaches for more information about swim lessons.
Also wanted to remind everyone of our two team rules. 1. Respect 2. Have Fun. Respect to us means listening (above water) to coaches, staff, volunteers, and keeping the facilities we work with this summer clean. We will work on a three strike policy where upon the first instance of inappropriate behavior the child will be verbally warned, the second warning is a five minute sit out period, and the third strike is being asked to leave practice for the day.
Lastly while we are happy to have parents and siblings watch practice, we must keep the border of the pool (gutters and three feet around pool) clear for coaches.  Also only swim and dive team members are allowed in the pool during practice, no siblings or friends are allowed in the shallow end during practice.
This is for the safety and well being of all our athletes and coaches.

We are very excited about the team this summer and getting to work with this wonderful group of kids. Please do not hesitate to ask any question or concerns.

Best,

Justin
